Kilmartin Glen
A landscape steeped in history, tucked along the west coast of Argyll, Kilmartin Glen is an endless source of inspiration.
The cup and ring markings carved into the rocks are shrouded in ambiguity. Little is known about them, but there is thought that they may correlate to the way the sun sets on the landscape at certain points of the year. It is a feat of stonemasonry and perhaps shows an understanding of the natural world that we have not yet puzzled; but what is undoubtable is that our ancient ancestors had a deep connection to the landscape in which they existed.
There are some stunning walks around this area where you can walk amongst the standing stones and circles, experiences the magic for yourself. Kilmartin Museum has recently reopened too and has some fantastic artefacts. You can also find my jewels in the museum shop!
